Workshop on Diffuse Urban Pollution:case study The Lower Lee

Second Better Thames Network workshop on Diffuse Urban Pollution:case study The Lower Lee

On 19th September 2011 thirty-eight delegates from academic and stakeholder institutions met at the historic Miller's House in East Bow to discuss the issues arising from diffuse urban pollution and, in particular, their relevance to improving WFD compliance in the Lower Lee.

Speakers included Professor Bryan Ellis from Middlesex University, Dr Sue Charlesworth from Coventry University and Peter Rudd and Debbie Jones from the Environment Agency. A site visit along the River Lee, taking in the new Olympic site, gave delegates an insight into the challenges facing this heavily modified waterbody.

Speaker presentations and discussion group outputs may be accessed via the workshop section of this website.
