Sediment pressures: Impacts and solutions

At the first Better Thames Network workshop on the 6th April 2011 around forty delegates and Environment Agency staff

discussed the physical, chemical and biological impact of sediments in rural and urban rivers.

Presentations were given by Professor Angela Gurnell (Sediment and physical habitat dynamics in river systems), Dr Lian Lundy (Sediment quality of U.K. Rivers), Dr Iwan Jones (Ecological impacts of sediments) and Dr Chris Extence (Proportion of Sediemnt-sensitive Invertebrates (PSI) tool).
